By Jaime – Shades of Spirit
Last night was one of those moments when time felt suspended, when the ordinary dissolved into something beautifully sacred. After days of preparation and release, I stepped into my first Cacao New Moon Ceremony with an open heart and clear energy, ready to receive whatever messages Spirit had waiting.
Stepping Into Ceremony
As I arrived, I immediately felt a calm anticipation in the air. Candles flickered softly, the scent of sage and cacao mingling in the space. I could feel the collective energy of the group, twelve souls, each carrying their own stories, hopes, and intentions.
We formed a circle, and as we began introductions, it was clear that we were all drawn there by something deeper than coincidence. The energy of the New Moon pulsed quietly between us, a reminder of new beginnings, stillness, and potential waiting to unfold.
The Spirit of Cacao
As the warm cacao was passed around, I took a moment to breathe in its aroma, which was earthy, heart-centered, and ancient.Cacao is often called “the medicine of the heart”, and as I sipped, I felt that truth ripple through me. My chest softened, my mind quieted, and my energy opened.
There was no rush, no expectation, just presence. It felt as if the cacao whispered, “You are safe to feel. You are safe to receive.”
Guided Trans journey Meditation
Once everyone had settled, our facilitator, Jen, led us into a guided trans journey meditation. Her voice was gentle but steady, inviting us to travel inward, to the places within that had been waiting for acknowledgment.
I could feel energy moving through my body, subtle vibrations, waves of color, and warmth. The white flame I had worked with during my limpia reappeared in my mind’s eye, this time softer, more expansive. It wasn’t about release anymore, it was about rebirth.
In that deep meditative state, I met fragments of myself I hadn’t seen in years, pieces that were finally ready to return home.
The Sound Bath
The sound bath, a symphony of crystal bowls, chimes, and drums, carried the energy higher. Vibrations rolled through the room like waves, dissolving what words couldn’t.
Each note seemed to speak its own language, one of harmony, healing, and remembrance. I could feel the interconnectedness of the group, like threads of light weaving between us, linking our hearts in quiet understanding.
It was otherworldly, a moment when the veil between the physical and energetic worlds felt almost transparent.
Collective Connection
What struck me most was the sense of unity. Twelve individuals, strangers at first, breathing, feeling, and releasing together. We cried, smiled, laughed, and shared. It reminded me that healing is rarely a solitary act. We are mirrors for one another, reflecting both wounds and light.
By the end of the ceremony, the air was thick with peace. We sat in stillness, letting gratitude settle in. I felt lighter, clearer, and profoundly connected, not just to the group, but to the pulse of the Universe itself.
Reflections
Driving home, I noticed how vibrant everything looked, the moonless sky glowing with hidden light, the stars shimmering a little brighter. I realized that the ceremony doesn’t end when you leave the space; it continues through every moment of awareness that follows.
This experience reminded me that the true magic of ceremony isn’t just what happens within it, but how it awakens us to the sacredness in everyday life.
Closing Thought
The New Moon invited me to start again. The cacao opened my heart. The sound and stillness taught me how to listen.
May you, too, find moments of stillness where magic waits to meet you.
